Day 1:Arusha/Moshi to Londorossi Gate – Hike to Big Tree Camp

After breakfast, drive from Arusha or Moshi to Londorossi Gate (2,250 meters) for registration. A short drive takes you to Lemosho Glade, where your trek begins through lush rainforest. Look out for black-and-white colobus monkeys and vibrant birdlife before reaching Big Tree Camp (2,800 meters) for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Big Tree Camp to Shira 1 Camp

Hike through the rainforest and into the heath and moorland zone, where the landscape opens up. The trail leads to Shira Ridge, offering spectacular views of Kilimanjaro’s western slopes. Descend slightly to reach Shira 1 Camp (3,500 meters) for the night.

Day 3: Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp (Acclimatization Day)

Today, take an easy trek across the Shira Plateau, a high-altitude volcanic landscape with incredible views of Mawenzi Peak and Kibo Peak. Arrive at Shira 2 Camp (3,850 meters) and take an optional acclimatization hike to higher altitudes before descending to camp.

Day 4: Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower

Ascend to Lava Tower (4,600 meters) for acclimatization before descending into Barranco Valley, where the scenery transforms into a lush green landscape with giant Senecio trees. This "climb high, sleep low" approach helps improve your adaptation to altitude.

Day 5: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Tackle the Barranco Wall, a steep rock face that requires some scrambling but offers breathtaking views at the top. Trek through undulating terrain to Karanga Camp (3,995 meters), where you’ll rest and acclimate before your summit push.

Day 6: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp (Summit Base Camp)

Continue towards Barafu Camp (4,673 meters), passing through the alpine desert. Rest and prepare for your midnight summit attempt. Your guides will provide a briefing and warm drinks before you set off for Uhuru Peak.

Day 7: Summit to Uhuru Peak and Descend to Mweka Camp

Start your summit trek around midnight, reaching Stella Point (5,756 meters) at dawn. After a short rest, continue to Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters)—Africa’s highest point! Celebrate your achievement, take photos, and begin the descent to Mweka Camp (3,100 meters) for the night.

Day 8: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate – Return to Arusha/Moshi

Descend through the rainforest, reaching Mweka Gate (1,640 meters). Receive your summit certificate and transfer back to Arusha or Moshi, concluding your incredible adventure.
